About Me…

The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old story, that is a door… and if you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.
— Clarissa Pinkola Estés

I am a psychotherapist who brings together a background in education, the arts, and healing practices to support children, adolescents, and adults navigating life’s challenges.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Christian Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where I trained in psychodynamic therapy, play therapy, and expressive arts approaches. My path into this work began during my years as a teacher, when I witnessed firsthand how deeply students needed more than academics — they needed emotional safety, care, and ways to process their inner worlds. That realization, combined with my own healing journey with trauma, called me into this profession.

My training includes Internal Family Systems certification in Children and Adolescents, C.A.L.M. Yoga for Kids, and a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. These integrative practices allow me to weave creativity, movement, mindfulness, and somatic awareness into therapy alongside traditional psychodynamic work. I believe healing happens through connection, and that therapy offers a space not only to explore the struggles you carry, but also to rediscover your strengths, creativity, and resilience.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade designing and leading arts-based programs in schools and communities, developing trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and socially engaged approaches that continue to shape my work today. My professional journey has included art education, non-profit leadership, and program development— experiences that deepened my understanding of identity, belonging, and the many ways people seek meaning and healing.

Alongside this, I hold degrees in Multicultural Art Education from Indiana University and a Master’s in Humanities and Social Thought from New York University. With more than 30 years of experience working with children in educational and creative settings, I bring both depth of experience and compassion into my therapeutic work.

In my practice, I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating trauma, grief, identity challenges, shame, and life transitions. Whether through play therapy, creative expression, sandtray, nature immersion, or talk therapy, I provide a safe and compassionate space for exploration, growth, and healing.
